Beside NH‑766 at Lakkidi in Wayanad, this modest shrine venerates Karinthandan, a Paniya guide from the 18th–19th century folklore, said to have led surveyors through the Thamarassery Ghat before being killed. His restless spirit was ritually chained to a fig—hence the ‘Chain Tree’. The roadside stop near Lakkidi View Point is open daylight hours and anchors Wayanad’s frontier‑route legendscape.
