Kerala’s large reservoir at Malampuzha was built 1949–1955 (inaugurated 9 Oct 1955); the masonry‑plus‑earthen dam (total length 2,069 m) impounds the Malampuzha River. Geography: foothills of the Western Ghats, with gardens, ropeway, and a celebrated Yakshi sculpture nearby. Interesting: rock‑garden from recycled materials.
