Salaulim Dam - History details

Constructed from 1976 to 2000 on the Salaulim River near Sanguem, this major dam created Goa’s largest reservoir. Surrounded by rolling hills of the Western Ghats, it features India’s notable duckbill spillway. The site reflects regional irrigation history and displaced villages. Monsoon months offer dramatic overflow vistas and garden events.
