St. Cajetan Church, Goa - History details

The Church of St. Cajetan—also called the Church of Divine Providence—was built by Theatine monks; construction began in 1655 and finished in 1661 under architects Carlo Ferrarini and Francesco Maria Milazzo. Modeled on St. Peter’s, its Greek‑cross plan and Corinthian façade frame a grand dome with Matthew 6:33 inscribed. Set near the Mandovi at Old Goa, December sees pilgrim influxes around adjacent feasts.
