Fateh Darwaza, Bidar Fort - History details

One of the fortified gateways of Bidar Fort—capital of the Bahmani Sultanate after Ahmad Shah I moved here (c. 1427–1432 CE). The vast laterite‑walled complex, with moats, bastions and palaces (Rangin Mahal, Jami Masjid), preserves several named gates; ‘Fateh’ (Victory) is cited among the subsidiary darwazas along with Delhi/Mandu. The fort’s Deccan Sultanate ensemble is on UNESCO’s Tentative List (2014).
