Lalbagh Botanical Garden - History details

Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru was established in 1760 by Hyder Ali and later enriched by Tipu Sultan, modeled on Mughal gardens of Sira. Its 240-acre expanse hosts over 1,000 plant species and the iconic 1889 Glass House, which hosts Republic Day and Independence Day flower shows. The ancient Peninsular Gneiss rock adds geological significance.
