Living Root Bridge Nohwet Village - History details
The Living Root Bridge near Nohwet Village is a spectacular natural marvel located in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Known locally as Jing Kieng Kri, it is a single-decker bridge crafted from the manipulated aerial roots of ancient rubber trees (Ficus elastica). It is one of the more accessible living root bridges in the region and is often visited alongside the nearby Mawlynnong village, famous for being the "cleanest village in Asia"
