Pavagadh View Point - History details

Overlooking the lava-formed Pavagadh Hill (≈800 m) and the medieval city of Champaner, this viewpoint surveys the UNESCO Champaner–Pavagadh Archaeological Park. The area was an early Hindu capital, then captured in 1484 by Sultan Mahmud Begada, and inscribed a World Heritage Site in 2004. Pilgrim crowds swell during Navratri to the hilltop Kalika Mata Temple—a spectacular sight from the ridgeline.
